What's the best place near you to get a pizza?
I suppose many people would say Bazbeaux, but I’m content with Papa John’s (delivery).

RyanAConklin I’d rather watch a half-hour of Snuggie commercials than half the crap on television.

What's your favorite movie quote?
“I can’t wait forever for those shoes.” from The Wizard of Oz. I have several movie quotes that I think of on a regular basis, but this is one I tell myself every time I have to wait for something or I get impatient.

What TV show makes you laugh the loudest?
For shows still in production, I would say Hot In Cleveland, Community, and Modern Family, plus the Sue Sylvester parts of Glee. Old favorites that still make me laugh are Seinfeld, Friends, Golden Girls, and Roseanne. I really miss the show Popular. That was hysterical. And I was sad to see Ugly Betty go off the air. That show made me laugh uproariously.

Writer's Block: Vampires, again? →
Is there a TV show that everyone around you watches that you really don’t get or like? If so, what is it? To what do you ascribe the odd fascination?
At one time I would have said Lost. I watched the first episode when it originally aired and decided that I wasn’t interested in devoting an hour a week to it to find out what was going on. I’d hear people talk about it as...

What is your opinion of the death penalty? →
Forget about deterrence, or the punishment fitting the crime. What matters is that punishment applied is relatively more severe for crimes that are worse than others. For any level of punishment, think about for what crimes that punishment is meted out. Then think of another type of crime. Is it worse or not as bad as the first crime? If worse, the punishment should be greater. If not as bad,...

Writer's Block: I scare myself
What is your greatest fear?
This falls into the category of phobia. I have the fear of falling. I don’t have a fear of heights. If I am in a secure enclosed location, such as a skyscraper or airplane, being high in the sky doesn’t both me. But when there is open air around me, such as on a bridge, I feel the panic and terrible fear that I could be blown or bumped over the side. ...
Writer's Block: My New Wallet →
Cell phones are the new wallets…. what do you wish you could pay for with your smartphone?
When I’m at a checkout, I don’t want to deal with looking at another little screen, as I and the people behind me are in a hurry to keep the line moving. I want just the hard plastic of my credit card to slide through the card reader and let it be done. However, that’s what needs ...

French, because it sounds pretty and magic is the only way I’m ever going to learn how to pronounce it. My second choice is German, because I think what Germans are talking about would be interesting. My third choice is Spanish, so I could understand what the cleaning people at work are saying about me.

I’m glad to see so many articles about the Spain vs. Netherlands match mentioning the Eighty Years War, the war for Dutch independence from Spain. It’s good for people to learn a little history, especially about something so little known as the control of the Low Countries by Spain in the 16th and 17th century.
